Job description

Helsinki Partners is a city marketing, investment promotion and talent attraction company owned by the City of Helsinki. Our mission is to promote the city’s sustainable growth and build Helsinki’s global reputation and brand. We do this by attracting international investments, businesses, talent and visitors, and conducting international sales and marketing.

We’re looking for a looking for Senior Advisor, Business Events to strengthen our Visitor Attraction Unit and its Convention Bureau. The Helsinki Convention Bureau helps international companies and agents find the best venues and partners in Helsinki. We are measured by the number of foreign congress delegates.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive sales work in attracting mainly foreign corporate events, but also association congresses to Helsinki
  • Planning, developing, executing, and following up on sales activities
  • Responsibility for own client and casework from lead generation to landing cases including necessary partnerships
  • Tight cooperation and providing own expertise across units with other units within Helsinki Partners.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate has:

  • Several years of experience in international business and sales.
  • Deep substance knowledge and understanding of international meetings, incentives, congresses, and business events.
  • In-depth understanding of the local ecosystem and business and excellent network around business events.
  • Excellent networking skills.
  • Excellent project management, sales, communications (incl. presentation skills) and analytics skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel abroad.
  • Readiness and ability to work in changing working environment and ability to find constantly new opportunities and be solution-oriented.
  • A relevant higher education degree or similar.
